Last one for tonight!

If you know me well you know i love to make spinner cards, so i made this one for a swap also. I love to work with the Pick a petal set when doing spinners. There are so many options of leaf petals and such. Any way i love the way this one turned out.

Certainly Celery, Regal Rose and Whisper white.
A little heat to clear emboss with some dazzling diamonds sprinkled in on the Enjoy part. If i haven't said so i love this Enjoy Every Moment stamp set.

What do you think of this guy? Probably my favorite of the three tonight... was way less work i can tell you!

Better head to bed hope everyone has happy stamping dreams. I know Lori was having night mares lately but with all her swaps gone she should be back to happy sleep also. :0)~

Ribbitt!

This punchie little frog is one that i will probably not make in bulk again... 11 cards and all those pieces. Can you say headache? He sure turned out cute though. What do you think of him? If you are nice i have one extra i might send him to you!

Fresh Cuts relook

I redid a little on this card from club and submitted it for a swap, i just love the colors together. I am going to miss purely pomagrante.

Well it has been a busy month i am done with my swaps for VC ROCKS and now working on a box for my roomie. It seems that one project goes on to another.

Kirsten spent last week with Granny and Papaw it was her first time away from home for more than a night. We were not sure how it would go but she stayed a full week and had a blast.

Mark and i went to see the Hulk movie.. very good and Ed Norton helps that alot!

Well i have another couple of pictures to post so let me know what you think.

This is a sneek peek of a new stamp set in the new catty. It is called Fresh Cuts.

I used purely pomagrante, whisper white, basic black. Dimensionals, my oval punchs, black ribbon. Very easy card.

Sorry i have been gone.. we have been hiking on the weekends, and busy at work. I know no excuse i will try to do better.

My club gals will be making this card on Friday night.

Lets talk BLING!!!

Well my little girl will be 7 tomorrow and i thought i would make her a beautiful card that is all her.
So there is her favorite word: "Sweet"
Her favorite Color: pink
The ribbon she keeps stealing out of my ribbon box! ( a Wally world find) :0)~
With of course all that BLING!
So i started out with the SU stamp set - seriously sassy - that too is her!
put it with pale pink, chocolate chip and very vanilla paper
Used my ticket corner, distress tool ( love this thing!) i had a bunch of pink and white rhinestones from HL that i put all over it, and that rhinestone buckle.. i think it was a HL find also.
I outlined the entire thing with a sparkle gelly roller... never used it till last night.. i am telling you now...you need to go get one of these they are great for that little extra dazzle. I got mine a while back when shopping with Lori and she said she liked hers... i know i can hear her now.. "You just opened it?" I know, i know - it took me long enough but i can say i will be using it again- soon!

Enjoy and hope everyone had a great Memorial day weekend!

VC Rocks Happy mail strikes again!

Check out this beautiful Rak from Pat Huntoon! It is even better in person. Love the colors and the DP. Thank you Pat!

You can check out Pat's beautiful cards and her blog here.

Weekend challenge

Here is my take on Beate's Weekend challenge . What do you think? Did i catch the sketch right?
I am trying to make some masculine cards with the sketchs so we will see how i do.. i really have to work hard at those. Definately not a easy card for me to do. I guess i just don't see a male liking a bunch of ribbon, embossing, bling, glitter, etc. I see them liking some thing simple, not a lot of fuss.
Well here is the info on the card
SU paper: Bayou Blue, pumpkin pie, always artichoke, very vanilla, apricot appeal
SU Inks: Always artichoke, basic black, bayou blue, pumpkin pie, and i put a little chocolate chip in his hair - i used mostly all markers for this card
Stamps: Wild about you, all in the family, and weathered
Other: paper piercer, dimensionals, pumpkin ribbon, crop a dile, and black jumbo eyelets

Just a note as i had forgot last week to let you know about the mothers day movie.. we went to see Iron Man.. Kirsten was so funny.. " We need to see the Number 1 movie in America!" as i am thinking "wow i think you watch way to much TV "... Funny the things they say. Anyway the movie was great lots of action. If all else you can always go to see Robert Downey Jr. I have always liked him.. goes way back to the Brat Pack days!

Anyways have a great week & stop back by i should be working on a weekday challenge and i have some new scrapbook pages to upload from my scrapbook kit class.

Another great mail day!

I received this in my Saturday Mail it is this another wonderful VC Rocks RAK from Ellen K... you have a hard time seeing it in the scan but there is a white embossed golf ball. Very cute!

Thanks Ellen!

Monday sketch Challenge #17

What do you think? I am trying to come up with a masculine card for Father's day? I have a really hard time with male cards. I also wanted to do Mary Jo's sketch challenge

SU stamp sets: Enjoy every moment, Lovely as a tree, seeing spots
Ink: Close to cocoa, Always artichoke, hunter green
paper: very vanilla, close to cocoa, always artichoke, apricot appeal
other: distresser, artichoke eyelets, dimensionals, twill

I did not have the artichoke buttons so i colored a button with my handy artichoke marker and then dipped it in emboss powder to set the color.

I use the misting markers technique on the tree.

Misting Markers directions:
Color in your image with your markers. Use the lightest color first then work your way up to the darkest color. Once you have your image colored in use a spray bottle with water in it and hold your image about arms length way and spritz it 2 or 3 times... depends on how watercolory ( Is that even a word? I guess it is now! )you want you image to be. Press your stamp on your paper and voila you did it.
* If you press your image down again you will get a lighter image that is cool to use sometimes.

Very fun. Enjoy!

Happy mail- another RAK from VC rocks group

A beautiful RAK from Janee. Thanks for the Happy mail!!!

Blender Pen refill recipe

A friend of mine shared this wonderful little recipe and i thought i would pass on the great info...

You can refill your blender pens:

For 1 ounce bottle fill dropper bottle--1/4 teaspoon alcohol1/3 Glycerine of bottle (1oz botttle)fill the remainder with Distilled water
(distilled works best, but if you don't have it,oh well,-we should have it for our irons anyway)
You can actually refill your pens by pulling out the wick and drop it in, drip by drip. This takes time, but is worth the effort if you use them very much.
I purchased my glycerine at Walmart (ask the druggist) It is very inexpensive.
Ideas for cleaning/refilling blender pens:Instead of wiping the excess color off on scrap paper, or a baby wipe, when I am cleaning my blender pen or switching colors, I fold a paper towel in half and then in half again. I put a few drops of the a blender refill solution onto the paper towel, and when I want to clean off the color, I run my blender onto the area of the paper towel that has the refill solution on it. It not only cleans your blender, but it replenished it at the same time! Works like a charm!

Weekend Challenge..So much ... trouble

So Much ...Trouble with this one, wow.... added brads, the ribbon just did not do the trick. What a pain in the butt! We received this set from regionals and i just can not seem to gather any inspiration from it! I have set it in my mind that i am going to use this set one way or another so don't be surprised when it shows back up! Maybe a scrapbook page will be better... we will see.

Directions for Chalkboard Technique

  • Ink a solid image with white pigment ink and stamp on dark cardstock
  • Dab a sponge or cotton ball in to the your chalk color that you want to use
  • Dab it over your image
  • Wipe off any excess chalk with a used dryer sheet or swiffer sheet

* work on one image at a time and not let your ink dry up.

Have a great day! ~Candy

Maybe it needs ribbon.. brads?? not sure.. Anyway i am sure it will come to me late tonight while i am trying to sleep!!! :0)~

Stamp set: SU's So much
I used the chalkboard technique on this card and i will post the directions to that tomorrow night with another card.

Pick a petal spinner

This is another card that i took to Tulsa Regionals with me.. i found a bunch of extra cut up cardstock and went ahead and put it all together yesterday while we were all snowed in. We had 13 inches of snow fall and it created blizzards with the blowing snow. It was so pretty! And a snow day to boot! Gotta love that.

This is a spinner card and everyone loves them, they are pretty easy to put together and i have never found anyone who has received one that did not say WOW.

Stamps: SU pick a petal and Celebrate

ink: Groovy guava, sky blue, versamark

Paper: Very Vanilla, Sky blue

other: Ticket corner punch, word window punch, dazzling diamonds, clear emboss powder.

More later i am working on a card challenge now and will post when i get it complete.

Any way the info on this card
SU stamp sets: ruff day and itty bitty backgrounds

Weekend Challenge #45

This is for Beate's weekend challenge. Lori and i have been kicking each other to get stamping more so we are going to start doing this challenge every week.. maybe one more also.. we will see!

Stamps: Friendly Flowers, Weathered background
Inks: Groovy Guava, Purely Pomegranate, close to cocoa
Paper: close to cocoa, purely pomegranate, groovy guava, whisper white
Other: pomegranate double stitched ribbon, crimper, dimensionals, ticket corner
A Bazzill cocoa brad tops it off.

I used the masking technique on this card and stamped off the back two flowers to make them lighter.

Instructions to Masking:
Stamp your image on a sticky note then cut it out. Stamp your project and cover your image with your sticky note and stamp your image again or use another image- the sticky note will make sure you do not get ink on your original image and will make the image appear to be in the background. You may need to make a few "masks" if you are going to make a fuller image.. i made two for this card.

I love the colors .. what do you think?

A big thank you to Lori for walking me through getting the watermark seal on my cards... what a pain to set that up!
Have a great weekend and happy stampin'!

Faux Denim

This is the other card that my stamp class will be doing tomorrow 4/25. It looks difficult but it is really easy. But be warned you will destroy your white ink pad...
Instructions for Faux Denim:
1. I started out with Not quite Navy paper
2. Then i took my Not Quite Navy ink pad and ran it all the way across the paper one way, then rotate the paper 90 degrees and do this again. You just want some faint lines - so don't get to carried away!
3. Then i took my Night of Navy ink pad and did the same thing
4. Then you take the Whisper white ink pad and do that same thing.
*Hints: Don't press down on the ink pad to hard. Don't stop until you have swiped it all the way across the paper - it will leave a dark line. And wait until the ink had dried before moving to the next color.
I ran my white across my paper twice i like that washed out denim look personally.
stamp set: Friendly Flowers - from the spring/summer 2008 mini
Punch: Oval, ticket corner
Ink: whisper white, not quite navy, night of navy, and rose red
paper: not quite navy, night of navy, rose red, and whisper white.
white grosgrain ribbon, crystal effects on the center of the flower with dazzling diamonds, everything is popped up with dimensionals. I ran the Not quite navy across my oval that friend is punch on just to give it a little more color, and last but not least gold brads.
Hope you enjoy the card it was fun to play with.

More 6x6 pages

We used the Stampin' Up star and spiral punch to create this movie star page

A little Bling (glitter) here to make the "G" stand out

We used the new Stampin" Up arrows punch here

And of course that infamous Dalhia fold on this page. If you need instructions on the dahlia fold check out this site. She has them perfectly laid out for you. Try the same fold but using the Stampin' Up tag punch and you will have a pinwheel. Very cute as well.

Can i just say it again? This paper is just so cute!!!!! I have been having a wonderful time putting together this album and the kit makes it sooooooooo easy with all the emblishments.

6x 6 scrapbook class

I have a scrapbook class that meets once a month. Everyone was able to pick out their own scrapbook pack... Stampin'Up of course. Everyone happened to pick either Crew girls or Crew Boys which worked out wonderful. Here is some of the pages we have done so far.
